Following three severe weather events in 2011 that included tornadoes, Hurricane Irene, and an October snow storm, MEMA selected Fortress to conduct an integrated  series of After Action Conferences and develop an After Action Report and Improvement Plan. The Report's objective was to identify the agency's strengths and weaknesses, as well as providing and developing recommendations for improvement.

Fortress conducted training and exercise classes on multiple days for Genzyme's management personnel. Each session participant received specially developed resource manuals for use during the training sessions. The classes included NIMS certification through an examination of FEMA knowledge requirements and culminated in Tabletop exercises that tested the knowledge the participants had gained during the training sessions.

Fortress performed a site survey and developed a conceptual plan for design and placement of access control infrastructure. Findings were discussed with Public Safety personnel, recommendations made and exterior security was installed. Fortress also worked with Public Safety personnel to develop specifications for cameras, designing their placement, and specifying networks necessary to provide video images to the security Control Center or Emergency Operations Center.

The University of Rhode Island completed a process of reviewing the safety and security of its four campuses. Each campus is unique from the others and has its own set of qualities and, importantly, vulnerabilities. Fortress' Albert Samano performed a Threat Assessment (TA) on their key facilities, addressing threats of natural, technological, and man-caused origin. Mr. Samano provided recommendations on follow up action items so enable the University to utilize the TA for the development of subsequent security and emergency preparedness program elements, such as policies, programs, and practices.
